808 ChangLe Rd (Close to ChangShu Rd, across the Center office building)

Two airports serve the Shanghai metropolitan area. Pudong Airport (PVG), which is the newer of the two and about 30km southeast of Shanghai's city center, serves all of the international flights and some domestic flights, including those to and from Hong Kong. Hongqiao Airport (SHA) lies just west of the outer ring of Shanghai city proper and serves most of the domestic flights.

There are also two major train stations: the Main Station in the north and the South Station to the southwest of the city center.

  From Pudong Airport:
  Pre-arranged car (most hassle-free way)
If you are arriving very early or very late during the day, need more assistance, or simply want a worry-free journey to your home in Shanghai, our car service might your best choice.  Our driver will wait for you at Arrivals holding a sign with your name, help you with your luggage to the car, and take you straight to Quintet.  Please ask about our service when you make your reservations.  The rate for a one-way trip from the airport is $280RMB.

Airport bus #2 to Jingan Temple (cheapest but maybe slower way)
Go out from Terminal 1 exit 5-7 to the curbside and look for bus #2, which is a air-conditioned, nonstop bus to Puxi's "City Aviation Building" near Jingan Temple on Nanjing West Road. The same bus #2 also stops atthe new Terminal 2. It runs 7am -11pm everyday and departs every 20 minutes. The bus fare is $22RMB one-way, and tickets are sold on the bus. After 11pm, there's a night bus that will drop you off at the Huashan Rd exit off of the Yanan Elevated Expressway; the fare is also $22RMB one-way. It's a 5-minute cab ride from the bus stop to our place.

Maglev train (coolest way)
We recommend trying the Maglev train if you don't have a lot of luggage. This high-tech train revs up to a topspeed of 430 km/hr and sometimes even more. You will feel fortunate watching the traffic jam on the freewayas your train whizzes by. The ride costs $50RMB one-way (by presenting a same-day paper flight ticket, you can get a $10RMB discount). The downside of riding this train is that 7 minutes later, you will have arrived at the terminal stop, Long Yang station, which still sits on the Pudong side. From there, you'd need to either transfer onto subway line #2 or take a taxi (~$60RMB) to get into Puxi. If you take the subway, ride for another half an hour in the Puxi direction, get off at the Jingan Temple station ($4RMB), and then either walk or cab ($12RMB) to our place. The train operates daily from 7am - 9pm.

  Taxi cab (convenient way)
Make sure you wait in line at the airport taxi stand to get a legitimate metered taxi. There might be people approaching you as you exit the airport asking if you would like to hire a car --- don't go with them. The cab ride should be about an hour and around $140-160RMB depending on traffic (more expensive if you get on after 11 P.M.). Take the Yanan Elevated Expressway (Yanan Gao Jia) and get off at the Huashan Rd exit. From there, you are five minutes away from our place. The trip should take from 40 minutes to an hour.

  Subway
Recommended only if you have very light luggage.  Pudong Airport is the terminal stop on Subway line #2, whose nearest stop to our place is the Jingan Temple station.  The ride from Pudong Airport takes more than an hour as there are numerous stops along the way, so opt for the Maglev train if you are short on time.  Our place is about a 5-minute cab ride away from the Jingan Temple station.

  From Hongqiao Airport:
  Cab
This is the most popular option and costs around $35RMB. The only challenge is that the taxi line is very long at peak hours, but it does move at a reasonable speed. Take the Yanan Elevated Expressway (Yanan Gao Jia) and get off at the Jiangsu Rd exit.  From there, you are less than ten minutes away from our place

  Subway
Hongqiao Airport’s Terminal 2 is on Subway line #2, whose nearest stop to our place is the Jingan Temple station.  The ride takes about half an hour.  Our place is about a 5-minute cab ride away from the Jingan Temple station.

  Pre-arranged car
Our car service is available for $150RMB one-way from the airport.

From the Shanghai Main Station or the South Train Station:
  Cab
Should get you to Quintet for $20-30RMB (the Main station is closer to downtown).

  Subway
Recommended only if you have very light luggage.  Both stations are on Subway line #1, whose nearest stop to our place is the Changshu Rd station.  Our place is about a 10-minute walk from that station.

  From the Hongqiao Train Station:
  Subway
Hongqiao Train Station is on Subway line #2, whose nearest stop to our place is the Jingan Temple station and line #10, whose nearest stop to our places is the Shanghai Library station.  Our place is about a 5-minute cab ride away from either station.

  Cab
This station is farther out than the other two train stations and should cost about $40-50RMB to get to Quintet.
